Eventually I got tired of waiting and went up and paid. I then asked to pay my half of the bill (he had told them what he was doing and why as he left, so that I wouldn't be charged) and waited and waited. Well suprise suprise nothing turned up in the 15 to 20 mintues it took me to finish my food (which was average quality, nothing more than expected, nothing less) at which point my colleague walked out. If I finished before his arrived he decided that was enough and would walk out. We decided to have a little test of the time it would take to get back, so I started eating my main, talking to my colleague and not rushing. He complained and the waitress apologised and took the food back, rushing back to our table to promise that it would be out in three minutes (very specific) and saying that it had been caused by a software fault in the restaurant's ordering system. When our mains turned up mine looked good (Gammon steak) but my colleagues (chicken and bacon salad) was not correct (another chicken dish). There was another 30 to 45 minutes wait for these (bearing in mind the restaurant was nearly empty at this stage) during which I saw at least one other table send their food back. All together the starters were not that bad. We then sat waiting another 30 to 45 mintues for the starters to come out, and when they did we asked for another diet pepsi, which then took a further 10 mintues and turned into diet coke, which they suddenly seemed to have some of in stock. I have to say that both my choices for main and starter were available. We placed our order and my colleague asked for a starter and main, both of which were not available (and not indicated to us on our arrival), they then didn't have the alternative starter he asked for, so he was already on his third choice starter and second choice main. We then sat deciding what we were going to eat for about 5 minutes and then it took us another 20 minutes to actually get someone to come over to take our order despite asking more than one waiter to come over twice during this time. all we sat down and we both ordered diet coke, however we were told they were completely out of diet coke, but they had diet pepsi, so that was fine. When we first arrived the restaurant had about 6 tables occupied, and was no more than 10% full. I visited here with a colleague about three weeks after the restaurant (and hotel that it is in) opened, and the following took place:. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends & colleagues. I stole his green beans and have to say they were probably the best I had ever had (not even the slightest hint of a squeak!!). My partner had the mixed grill, which he was equally impressed with. I enjoyed the spinach & ricotta lasagne, which was delicious. I know it was only a couple of hours, but so many places the staff seem to look right through you as if they've never laid eyes on you before, but this lady make reference to us being in earlier. The service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The lady (cannot remember her name, but she had short dark hair & seemed to be training someone) greeted us. They explained the restaurant was due to open in 1.5hrs, they provided us with menus & offered us coffee. We walked across to the Tyme Restaurant, still in our work (truckie) attire & were immediately impressed with the 2 ladies on reception who greeted us with a very warm. My partner & I were staying over night in the HGV parking area (9th June).
